...the Soul of Your Leaders

...the Soul of Your Organization

Michael Cusick is a dynamic communicator who speaks internationally on topics related to the soul care of Christian leaders.  Blending his own story of healing and redemption with scripture, humor, and insight, Michael's passion is to point others to the Father heart of God and the sufficiency of the Gospel.

Michael is available to provide a variety of presentations focusing on our inner life in Christ and the centrality of soul care for leaders.  Whether you are looking for a single talk, a weekend retreat, or a tailored workshop, each of the talks below can be individually designed to meet the needs of your ministry or organization.

Restoring the Soul
A message that invites us to consider our personal brokenness as we look "inward, upward, and outward," in the backdrop of God's passion to redeem, restore, and heal.  Key Passage:  Psalm 23:3 ("He restores my soul")

Restoring the Masculine Soul
Beginning with God's inquiry of Adam in the garden this message invites men to explore and recognize brokenness, drop their fig leaves, and move into authentic intimacy with God and others.Key Passage:  Genesis 3:9 ("But the Lord God called to the man, 'Where are you?'")

Restoring the Soul of Marriage
Most couples tend define a good marriage as "the absence of conflict."  But defing a good marriage as the absence of conflict is like defining a good steak as the absence of needing to chew.  This message explains why conflict is an inevitable part of every good marriage, then points couples toward emotional, spiritual, and physical intimacy where they can experience God's amazing purpose in marriage--to shape one anothers souls into the image of Christ.  Can also be presented with Julianne Cusick.    Key Passage:  Ephesians 5:31 ("and the two will become one flesh")
The Seven Myths of Intimacy
A shorter version of the message above while exploring the common myths of intimacy and then leading couples to the true nature of marital intimacy.

The Broken Promises of Porn
Michael Cusick weaves his personal story of being healed from sexual addiction and how God saved his marriage.  This message explains the basis for breaking free from lust and sexual compulsion and invites listeners to walk a path of learning to love from the heart.  This message has been presented to both mens groups and co-ed groups.  (can also be presented with Julianne Cusick).

Soul Snares:  Unearthing the Roots of Our Addictive Passions
This message explains the spiritual nature of addiction, the roots of our addictive passions, the cycle of addiction, and how to break free.  Based upon the forthcoming book of the same name.

Designer Sexuality
Understanding God's design for gender, sexuality, and relationships through examining parallels between human sexuality and the Trinitarian nature of God.  Based upon an upcoming course at Denver Seminary (Spring 2008).

The Seven Postures of the Heart
What does it mean to really love God with our heart and not just "do the Christian life."  What comples us in our spirituality?  Paul earnestly stated that "Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all and therefore all died" (2 Cor. 5:14-15).  If we are honest, we are often compelled by things like drivenness, insecurity, jealousy, anger, even shame.  In Christ we are invited to a freeing journey of living from the heart.  What might this look like?  This message explores "postures our heart must take" which include humility, receptivity, trust, attentiveness, intentionality, perseverance, and grace.
