About
For centuries soul care has been a central focus of the Christian life. Now, more than ever, followers of Jesus are hungry for Christian spirituality that connects life's broken realities with the realities of the Gospel. Christian leaders are no exception.
Since 1993, Rev. Michael Cusick, Founder and President of Restoring the Soul, has been involved in caring for the souls of Christian leaders in several different capacities--as a professor of Bibilical Counseling at Colorado Christian University and adjunct professor at Denver Seminary; as a private practice counselor and spiritual director; as a prayer minister at Lookout Mountain Community Church; and through the ministry of Soul Care Intensives.
During this time it has been nothing short of amazing to see how the Father has touched the hearts and lives of countless men and women and restored their souls for His kingdom purposes. Out of these experiences the ministry of Restoring the Soul was born as a not-for-profit ministry to serve and equip the unique needs of those who serve in ministry.
Our Mission
Restoring the Soul exists to equip and care for Christian leaders through speaking, writing, and providing soul care intensives in Colorado. RTS also serves with strategic ministry partners overseas. Our mission is focused on two fronts. Equipping leaders occurs through speaking and writing with an emphasis on spiritual formation as it applies to personal, relational, and sexual brokenness. Caring for leaders occurs through life changing "Soul Care Intensives."
Our Vision
Our vision is simple--whether equipping or caring--that every Christian leader throughout the world have the opportunity to experience restoration in an environment of SAFETY, GRACE, and TRUTH.
But what is restoration? Is it getting people back into ministry as quickly as possible? Hardly. Restoration is the development of a deeper, truer knoweldge of what God is really like, along with an increased capacity to reflect from the heart what God is like. Therefore, our vision is truly to come alongside Christian leaders in times of personal brokenness, to cooperate with God, being led by the Spirit, and to facilitate the removal of any barriers that stand in the way of knowing Him more deeply and loving others more powerfully.
As part of our vision, Restoring the Soul is prayerfully seeking the heart of God in relation to obtaining or developing a retreat facility in the foothills of Denver. This facility would provide ministry space where Soul Care Intensives would be held, while additionally serving as a much needed lodging and retreat facility for those in attendance. If you are interested in partnering with Restoring the Soul to help make this vision a reality, please contact Michael Cusick @ info@restoringthesoul.com.
Our Strategic Location
Colorado's "Front Range" is home to over 200 national or regional Christian ministry headquarters including The Navigators, Youth for Christ, Young Life, Campus Crusade for Christ, Officer's Christian Fellowship, Focus on the Family, and numerous others. Since our inception it has been our goal to develop key relationships with such ministries whose leaders serve in ministry positions wordwide.
Increasingly, through growing partnerships and affiliation with some of the ministries above , Restoring the Soul is becoming the "go to" resource when Christian leaders experience seasons of brokenness, or when their organization needs training, consulting, or speaking.
It is our privilege to serve you--the body of Christ--through equipping and caring, and we welcome your inquiry about how we might serve you or your organization. Feel free to contact us and your call or e-mail will be handled with discretion, compassion, and professionalism.
